Fear. Fear of the unknown expense looming around the corner waiting to say, “Gotcha! ”
Uneasy. No more playing it safe. No more credit lines to fall back on. My savings account is finally the resource it was intended to become – my safety net.
Uncertainty. How long can I really keep this up?! There’s gotta be a REASON that I NEED a credit card.
But then I recalled God’s promises:
Fear: [Isa 41:10] Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Uneasy/Anxious: [Phil 4:6-7] Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Uncertainty: [Jer 29:11] For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Reassured. Empowered. In control. In charge. The fear, uncertainty and uneasiness have faded. It was replaced with clarity, certainty and peace.
[Ps 34:4] I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
I want to hear from you. What leap of faith have you taken most recently with your finances?
